That is what happened to longtime co-owners Walt and Thea when they travelled with friends to Limpopo-Lipadi on their ‘maiden trip’ to Africa. Their friends’ words ring home to many of us and remind us how privileged we are to find ourselves regularly in our part of Africa… “It’s hard to put into words just how incredible our recent trip to Africa was. From the moment we stepped off the plane, Africa welcomed us with open arms. The air was unlike anything I’ve ever breathed before – a mixture of earthy scents, the faintest hint of exotic spices, and a freshness that invigorated my soul. It was as if the very essence of Africa was in every breath. 
The calls of wildlife in the early morning were like a natural alarm clock, reminding us that we were in a place where animals roam freely. Our encounters with the wildlife were simply breathtaking. Watching a herd of elephants, the majestic giraffe and witnessing the grace of a leopard as it moved through the trees were moments that will forever be etched in my memory. The sleep-out camp that was organized was a true adventure of a lifetime
As we settle back into our daily routines at home, I can’t help but reflect on the beauty and richness of Africa.
