Young leopard hiding in plain sight

By: Limpopo-Lipadi | Date: June 11, 2024 | Reserve

There had been several reports about a leopard mother bringing up her two cubs not far from Cabbage land Dam waterhole, but so far finding them had proven impossible. Until the moment that these co-owners were driving slowly while trying to identify a bird of prey perched on a tree on one side of the game drive vehicle. A quick glance to the other side was like: wait a minute, did I see a leopard? No, probably not, it’ s just high grass. Well, let’s just reverse a bit, you never know. And there it was, a beautiful sub-adult leopard trying to stay out of sight in the tall grass. No mother or sibling anywhere near, so it may well have been out there to practise its hunting skills.
