Motse: Improving Lives, One Step at a Time

Last month, members of the Motse committee were invited to Tsetsebjwe Junior School to celebrate the completion of much-needed dormitory upgrades.

The dormitories had fallen into poor condition due to lack of maintenance and vandalism. Many windows had no glass, doors were damaged or missing, and sanitary blocks lacked privacy. This created unsafe and uncomfortable living conditions for learners, especially girls.

Motse appointed and funded a local contractor to repair windows, install new doors in sleeping rooms and sanitary blocks, and fit new shower facilities. It is a meaningful step forward, with further improvements such as mattresses and storage cupboards now under discussion.

There is encouraging news beyond the buildings. Exam results at the Junior School and three surrounding primary schools have improved significantly and are now at or above the national average. Headmistresses have indicated that Motse’s education support has played an important role in this progress.

Through Motse, Limpopo-Lipadi invests in surrounding communities of Tsetsebjwe and Moletemane, by supporting education, healthcare and local economic activity. We believe conservation and community wellbeing go hand in hand!
