Moletemane gets its first library

It started with a presidential promise. In May last year, President Duma Boko visited Moletemane Primary School and offered to send the school a large number of books. It was welcome news. There was just one problem: nowhere to put them. The school had no library.

Working alongside the school’s head teacher, staff, and village leaders, Motse set about solving that. Two unused storage rooms were combined and converted into a proper library space. The library is now complete and ready to receive students.

Motse also committed to furnishing the new building with tables, chairs and mats, and to sourcing books chosen by the head teacher and staff themselves.

The library is the latest in a series of practical projects Motse has taken on in Moletemane and Tsetsebjwe. School uniforms, photocopiers for books, worksheets and exam papers, reusable sanitary pad kits for girls, each one helping to make sure that learning is a little easier, a little more accessible. Because education is the best way up, and every child deserves a fair shot at it.

The students of Moletemane Primary School now have a place to read, learn, and find out what they love.
