Spend a week learning to see the bush the way our guides do. Limpopo-Lipadi’s Exclusive Birding Course is built for visitors who want to go beyond spotting birds to actually identifying them, by sight and by call, in one of the most bird-rich corners of the Tuli Block.

Green season = Birding season

Limpopo-Lipadi’s varied habitats, riverine forest, savannah, koppies and the Limpopo River frontage, support an impressive bird list of roughly 397 species. Running the course in the green season means resident species share the Reserve with a wave of migrants: bee-eaters, rollers, swallows, swifts, storks, raptors and kingfishers all pass through or take up temporary residence. And if you are lucky, you might find a Pel’s Fishing Owl or Boulder chat!

What the course covers

The programme focuses on practical birding skills. Each day brings two game drives led by an experienced guide, with a focus on visual identification and bird call recognition.
