Warm School Uniforms Donated for Winter

A Botswana winter is usually short (just a couple of months) but can be remarkably cold because there is no heating in homes or schools. Imagine sitting in a cold classroom all day, trying to learn, when you don’t have a warm sweater/jersey to wear. Motse, the community outreach arm of Limpopo-Lipadi Reserve, wanted to prevent this problem, so we donated new uniforms to 224 needy children in 3 primary schools in the villages of Tsetsebjwe and Moletemane.

Each student received a pair of shoes, trousers or a skirt/dress, a shirt, and a warm jersey. At the handing over there were representatives from Motse, the village Kgosi (chief), Village Development Committee, Limpopo-Lipadi staff and shareholders, school management, Parents and Teachers Association members, parents and, of course, the students. At one of the schools, we had the honour to be accompanied by the Regional Council Secretary of the district, who gave thanks to the Motse Committee and Limpopo-Lipadi, for all they are doing and for supplying the new uniforms in time for winter
