Just after lunch while reading a book at the riverfront, a herd of 12 elephants emerged, making their way to the Limpopo River. So very quiet as they move carefully but swiftly through the bush. The only sound you hear is the crackling of branches, the soft feeding on leaves and trees, and then they disappear across the river. We also hear them at night, strolling, eating, drinking, splashing in the river and then the next morning the only evidence of their visit is some elephant dung.
