Birds’ breeding season is in full force. So many birds raising their fledgelings before they fly off from their place of birth. Shareholder Tony was lucky enough to find a tree full of red-billed quelea and their chicks, flying in and out, testing their newly acquired skills before they will leave the nests behind. Lots of fledgling quelea have by now left their nests at the breeding colony near the Southern Plains. But… there are also plenty of eagles (lesser spotted, tawny, steppe) waiting for them as easy prey, as you can see in the videos… The reality of the food chain, happening right in front of our eyes.
