To avoid overgrazing popular waterholes and make sure that vegetation is properly restored, we have to be creative from time to time and try to lure territorial animals like impala away from their favourite waterholes to other places. So not too far from the immensely popular (if you can use this terminology with animals) Mogorosi waterhole, a new waterhole was opened—Wilderness. It took a bit of adjustment, but the impala seem to have taken a liking to this new place. One morning, we saw literally hundreds of impala coming down to drink (always on the alert) while some zebra and baboons were also waiting in the background for their turn.
