Sitting in the hide at Mogorosi one morning it was quite a calm affair: guinea fowls quarrelling, doves bathing, impala carefully coming for drinks, accompanied by a large herd of zebra. It was one of those moments where your thoughts wander off and the hours slowly tick away. With breakfast and a book in reach, there’s nothing better to do: having the animals come to you, rather than trying to find them in the bush. And then there was this one zebra that was pushing and challenging the other zebra’s, sort of breaking the peace and quiet amongst the drinking animals. Not sure that he was laughing (probably more like bullying the other zebra’s), but it was funny enough to see his mouth break open, as if we had invited him to pose for a photo. We duly obliged, hence this photo.
