The Elephant breeding herd is often followed by several young males and, just like young human lads, they want to test each other. So, it is not unusual to see a couple of them doing so, but it is always an exciting demonstration of the sheer size and strength of these amazing animals.

On this occasion the herd had moved off from drinking at the Longwope waterhole at sunset, kicking up a lot of dust in the process. This made a terrific atmosphere, which together with the backdrop of the mature trees in the Longwope River provided the perfect arena for the young gladiators!
