On the riverside, where most lodges are located, you will regularly bump into a group of five roaming elephant bulls. Their attitude is completely relaxed and you often see them making their rounds through River Camp and Island Lodge, unfazed by cars and people.

Recently, they were spotted crossing the water to one of the islands in the river, and over to the other side of the river into South Africa. Luckily they don’t seem to need any border crossing papers, passports or PCR tests to get across.

How lucky that we get to see these gracious giants every now and again.
