“One of my friends saw this photo and thought I was sitting in a folding chair in front of the lions! In reality, I’m on the back of the seat in the safari vehicle, but in an open vehicle like this you do feel like you are sitting with the lions. They may spend most of their day sleeping, but when a male lion sits up and looks you straight in the eye, you definitely remember it, and suddenly realise you are holding your breath and keeping very still!”
